I got a tattoo and forgot how to take care of it....
Here are two easy was to help you with the care of your tattoo.
Saniderm
If you were wrapped with saniderm, there is not much for you to do other than wait for 5-7 days and watch the majic as it heals. Once in a while some plasma bubbles may appear after the first day. If that’s the case remove the bandage with warm water and antibacterial soap, and return for a fresh warp. If your tattoo didn’t show signs of leaking, you are good to go.
Too far to came right away for a re wrap?
We got you covered!
Step 1 - Remove bandage and clean your new tattoo with soap and water. For soap we recommend Dial Complete or, Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap. DO NOT SCRUB, wash gently with the palm of your hand. Let tattoo air dry for about half an hour.
Step 2 - Apply a thin coat of A&D or Aquaphor. If you have excess, use a paper towel to cover the tattoo and run your hand over it. The excess ointment should be gone, leaving a thin coat. ( do this twice a day for the first two days). Don't forget to keep it clean. Wash your tattoo at least twice a day.
Step 3 - After the third day move to a water base fragrance free lotion. We recommend Eucerin, Lubriderm, or coco butter ( coco butter is the exception when it comes to fragrance free) Thin coat of the above mentioned goes a long way. Don't forget to keep it clean, wash your tattoo at least twice a day.
Step 4 - KEEP YOUR TATTOO AWAY FROM THE SUN! Contrary to popular belief Sunblock does not protect your tattoo. If you want your tattoo to look its best, keep it away from the sun. Its an investment, protect it, its for life. The outcome of the tattoo is your responsibility too, we did our part.
This pretty much sums it up, keep it away from pools, Jacuzzi, bath soaks, beach, and sun exposure. Happy healing.
